Back home from our short (4 days) but intensive (more than 8 hours and 75 km of o-training and competitions with 2500m of climb) i'm back home now and try to analyze the situation. I have to admit i expected a little different terrain by just seeing the maps. It was a very useful opportunity to get the right ideas before starting with winter preparation.

During our TC here in Hungary we took part also in a competition on a terrain which was in parts relevant for WOC 2009 . It was not Hungarian Championships with all the best of the world taking part, but it was 2 nice races in the southern part of Bükk mountains, not too far away from next years WOC middle and long qualification. The middle distance race on Saturnday was not so good for me. I was not prepared for the difficult controls in the green area. I lost some seconds on quite a lot controls. Not satisfied at all. It was much better on the long distance today. I had better feeling with the terrain and did not miss much. But still some problems with the route choices. I think this is one of the most important things to improve. |

Last weekend I traveled to Subiaco near Rome for a competition I had selected as one of the most important in the first part of the season: national middle distance championships. Even if preparation during winter and spring was not the best I felt to be ready for the challenge. Model event on Friday was good. Nothing unexpected. Fast forest and quite easy orienteering. In the qualifier on Saturday I tried to make a good start and to run at full speed for some controls in the beginning in order to test the routines for Sunday. I had a clear race and won my heat. Therefore I could start last in the final on Sunday.

As I wrote earlier, i was very dissapointed not to be selected for IFK Lidingös first team for 10mila. But it was quite easy to motivate for a good run in 2nd team. The composition of our team was well studied and all my team mates where prepared for the job. The organization around the team was perfect. Everyone was motivated and our goal was to be the best 2nd team in the competition.
